Chemist
– Laboratory Management
Epigem
Limited is working at the leading edge of technical innovation,
developing products such as flexible flat panel displays
and micro-fluidic components from conception through to
prototypes and manufacture. We are looking for an experienced
industrial chemist to join the Company & support the
team working on high resolution flexible circuit boards
that can be integrated into a range of micro-engineered
systems. The employee will be located at Epigem's premises
in Redcar.
The
role-
-
Management of a Chemistry Lab with the emphasis on electrochemistry
but some organic synthesis skills would be advantageous
-
Monitoring
& analysing nickel & copper electroplating solutions
as part of production line QC but knowledge of other
metal electroplating solutions such as gold & silver
would be advantageous
-
Formulation & chemistry support to a team of scientists
& engineers
-
Safety Manager for the Company reporting to the Operations
Director
-
Practical, problem solving skills
-
Project
management & IT skills
-
Adherence to safety standards & awareness of current
legislation
-
Ability
to work to quality procedures and to strict deadlines
-
Best
practices in laboratory management in an environment
where quality & precision are critical

Good communication skills, flexible, versatile, reliable
The selected
candidate will have excellent career prospects within an innovative
& expanding Company. The salary will be commensurate with
experience and suitability but will be in the range £26k-£28k.
