Fluence offers the technology for manufacturing a very broad range of polymer microfluidic devices. From the size of a postage stamp up to around A4 size, our microfluidic devices incorporate microfluidic channels with dimensions in the range of 10’s to 100’s of microns. The technology offers options regarding the materials of construction, where application specific characteristics such as surface chemistry can be modified as appropriate. Our Design and Manufacturing Capability covers initial prototyping services through to the volume production of polymer microfluidic devices, where our clean room based manufacturing process realises aspirations of low cost consumable products and devices. A key aspect of the technology is the flexibility with which fluid connections can be made to peripheral equipment such as pumps, valves and sensors. A variety of options for connecting to stand-alone microfluidic chips are available, where most commercially available systems can be used. In addition to providing connections to peripheral equipment, the Fluence Interconnection System also offers a versatile means for interconnecting multiple microfluidic chips. Such Microfluidic Chip Connections enable 2D tiling and 3D stacking of separate microfluidic chips, and greatly enhance overall functionality by building a modular network of microfluidic chips. |
